Spring Time

There is something to be said about sitting around a fire outside eating dinner with family. It's so relaxing just watching the flames.

I put a big log on the fire and am watching it burn. It could burn for a long, long time.

I am going to post how to make a pixie stick. It changes the color if your fire.

I saw this on facebook today.  I am personally going through a life transition and these made an impact on me today.  Something to think about.  It's my life.  No point in living it for someone else.
  1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. & while you walk, SMILE. It is the ultimate antidepressant.
  2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
  3. When you wake up in the morning, Pray to ask God’s guidance for your purpose, today.
  4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
  5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, broccoli, and almonds.
  6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
  7. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
  8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
  9. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
  10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Forgive them for everything !
  11. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
  12. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
  13. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
  14. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
  15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
  16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years, will this matter?’
  17. Help the needy, Be generous ! Be a ‘Giver’ not a ‘Taker’
  18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
  19. Time heals everything.
  20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
  21. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
  22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
  23. Each night before you go to bed ,Pray to God and Be thankful for what you’ll accomplish, today !
  24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
  25. Share this to everyone on your list to help them lead a happier life…!!!!

Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed comes direct and in tact from the classic Fox Hunt. A fox with dull or cloudy eyes or a limp, listless ungroomed tail is one in poor health and will not provide active challenging chase over a long course.

When people are tired, their eyes are dull; when rested and refreshed, bright eyes signify wide awake, ready for the day, the task, whatever like that.

Bushy tailed: ever notice a squirrel getting ready to grab a peanut or a piece of fruit? His tail is straight up, twitching and the hair is standing straight out, like he's electrified.

So, bright eyed and bushy tailed is someone wide awake, ready and eager to proceed with the task at hand.

Rock On!

Movie Review: ParaNorman

I took the kids out to a movie today. They chose ParaNorman. Personally, I had never heard of the show. The kids seemed to like it.

For the sake of the children, I watched it with a smile on my face. Inwardly thought, I felt I was being tortured and was so thankful when it was over.

This is definitely a red box movie when you've seen all the others. In fact, don't waste you're money. Take your kids out to ice cream instead.

Santa Pasta - Delicious

Located next to Cafe Rio, you will find a quaint shop called Santa Pasta dedicated to nothing but, you guessed it, pasta.

When I first came here shortly after they opened for business, I was a little confused how things worked. Everything was in Italian. Luckily the service was great and had been well trained in helping me out.

The ordering process happens in few easy steps.

  1. Choose your size
  2. Choose your pasta
  3. Choose your sauce
  4. Add a mix-in
  5. Add your choice of Robusto
When I visit Santa Pasta, I normally get the Amici Rotini with marinara, bolegnese and the picante robusto. It comes with a slice of garlic bread. With a drink, it costs less than $9.00. Well worth it and you walk away satisfied.

My review: Five Stars

Healthy Eating

10/25/2012

I'll pretty much eat anything. It doesn't matter what it is as long as it falls under the category of food.

Today, I thought I would mix it up a little bit and go to lunch at a local Hawaiian BBQ joint just down the street from where I work. I heard from a coworker that I wouldn't find a better place to eat chicken.

Let's just say that I won't be eating there again any time soon. It felt as if I was eating slimy, greasy, fatty food that comes from Kentucky Fried Chicken on a bad day. I wouldn't even give the left overs to my dog. Believe me, there were left overs. I couldn't finish my meal, which is rare in and of itself.

Harrier Street of Fire - GoPro Hero2

7/24/2012

Every year, our neighborhood gets together for either July 4th or July 24th.  Traditionally, this has been called the Harrier Street of Fire.  This year was no different.  Everybody brings a dish of food to share.  We sit and listen to music, play games and just enjoy each others company.  The video says it all.
We used a GoPro Hero2 mounted to a remote controlled airplane.  If you are in need of some aerial shots and you are located in the Salt Lake City area, please feel free to drop us a line.
